Advance Visuals offers a range of digital media solutions in support of clinical research trials
Our Vision
Our purpose is to support clinical research studies by creating and deploying advanced video capture systems. We foster a true research partnership with study sponsors, CRO’s, key opinion leaders, and individual sites to deliver media products and systems tailored to the needs of modern healthcare science.
We aim to add to the value of clinical trials by capturing meaningful video data according to specific study and scientific goals. By understanding and responding to these needs, case by case, we create custom-engineered systems with strong ties to study outcome objectives.
Primary business areas
With over twenty years’ experience supporting major clinical trials, we have proven expertise in creating and deploying both site-based systems and home-based systems; providing full-service training and materials, including gold standard specialty training video production; and many international deployment and compliance services.
Site-based systems
Within the SiteCam family, there are both subject-facing and rater-facing solutions. Rater-facing solutions are primarily used in data review to improve inter-rater reliability and overall assessment quality Subject-facing systems capture subject symptomatology, usually for centralized rating or as a general requirement by the authors of the assessment.
Home-based systems
This variant of SiteCam was developed to allow parents and caregivers to capture patient symptoms at home or otherwise away from site staff. These home sites are often in small communities at some distance from the PI’s facility. The system design criteria stresses low cost, ease of use, and privacy. It also offers a hub-spoke administration model where a local site or PI staff works with the family on support and identification of redaction points within the video.
Training & materials
With custom SiteCam systems, we provide robust training and instructional materials that lead site staff to success. We have produced interactive and static training modules in 30+ languages, video tutorials on usage, one-on-one in-person or video training, and custom IM adaptations to instill understanding and comfort with the capture and transmission systems. Over 3000+ site staff have been trained to use SiteCam.
Gold standard specialty video production
Advance Visuals has four decades of experience producing hundreds of training videos for use in clinical trials, featuring actors as well as real patients. These range from purely didactic videos on specific scales, including hundreds of “gold standard” clinical interviews, to general topics such as GCP and anti-placebo training. Advance Visuals can also provide rapid development and creation of IM training materials for movement disorder scales.
International services
SiteCam is currently in operation in thirty-two countries with twenty-two language variants. In addition to our New England headquarters, Advance Visuals maintains deployment and support hubs in Seattle, Dublin, Istanbul, Madrid, Auckland, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Tokyo. We are also licensed to meet data residency and domain requirements in China. These worldwide capabilities have evolved to meet support, logistical, and regulatory needs that are ever more complex.
